Om Shanti

It's such a beautiful way to begin the morning. At the beginning of the day, we wake up and have our meeting with Baba, the One who is our Parent, and then throughout the whole day we think of Baba, so we have such a beautiful day. Now, whenever Baba asks the question, "Are you ready?"—are you ready? We usually say, "Baba, you fix the date." But today two points especially came to my attention. As Nirwair Bhai said, when your heart says: “Paane tha so paa liya, aur kya baki raha” meant to attain, and you no longer have unfulfilled desires—no thoughts like, "I still have to do this," or "I still have to become this"—then Baba has been saying that when you no longer have such thoughts, it means you are now ready. I thought these were two very beautiful points to remember, so that we can tell Baba, "Yes, Baba, we are ready." Actually, one has to remain ever-ready. Baba could call souls at any time for a different role to play. We saw this with Brijmohan Bhai, and many other examples. In the USA, there was once a very well-known scientist. He had founded the company that developed medicine for COVID. He was only in his forties. Suddenly, he came to India to see his parents. He was working, and although he was diabetic, he continued working. He fell and injured his head, and before anyone could come to help him, he had lost so much blood that he left his body there. We thought, "Such a young scientist, so famous, so capable, such a wonderful child of Baba, so loving and friendly," and yet he left the world without any illness or warning. The same happened to two or three others who were scientists or successful businesspeople, all around the age of forty. Who expects that at forty? That is why Baba always says that nobody knows when that call will come. So, we have to tell Baba, "I am ever-ready." Not only say it, but look honestly within and ask ourselves, "Am I truly ever-ready?" We have to be ready for everything. That is why Baba says: never postpone anything by saying, "I'll do it tomorrow," or "I'll do it later." I have learned that sometimes that "later" never comes. Dadi Janki always used to say: "Whatever you have to do, do it now." Once I went to her room. It was around 9:30 at night. She was having a very late dinner because she always ate only after finishing all her work. She told me they had prepared something special in Shakti Bhavan and asked me to eat it. I said, "I just had dinner. I can't eat now. Maybe tomorrow." She immediately replied, "Kal kisne dekha hai?" ("Who has seen tomorrow?") It was only food, so I thought, "Fine, I'm not that interested." The next day I went back, but the sister who had prepared it had already left. Again, just as Dadi said—you don't know about tomorrow. Whatever you're leaving for tomorrow, do it today. "Ever-ready" is a beautiful slogan to remember.

As I said, Baba could call any one of us, just as He called our brother Brijmohan. We all thought Nirwair Bhai has left but he would remain with us longer, but perhaps his role was meant to be short, and then suddenly he left his body. So, we have to remain ever-ready, whatever stage of life we are in. I also liked Nirwair Bhai's point: " What I had to attain, I have attained." That itself is the way to meet Baba. Baba has given us everything. The question is whether I truly feel that I have attained everything. When people ask nowadays, "What do you need?" I feel, "What more do we need? We already have everything." This feeling of complete contentment in life is very important. There should not be thoughts such as, "I wanted to do this but I didn't, and now I can't." Be ever-ready by doing what needs to be done, and do it accurately. Another point that stayed in my thoughts was not merely having thoughts of good wishes, but developing an attitude of good wishes. I think we all need to reflect deeply on this. Do I have good wishes only in my mind and intellect? Sometimes someone does something and we say, "Yes, I have good wishes but then deeply our thoughts continue. "This person did this... that person is doing that..." But when there is a true attitude (vritti) of good wishes, it becomes extremely powerful. Today Baba is also telling us: don't be beggars. Come to Me as My Heir soul. Come to Me knowing that you have a right to your Parent's inheritance. This is a very powerful thought. Baba has already given us the entire inheritance. Yet we experience it only according to how worthy we become. Baba keeps giving according to our stage and our worthiness. Just as laukik parents sometimes do not hand over the entire inheritance immediately, because they know the child may not use it wisely. I know one sister whose parents have only one daughter. Everything will eventually go to her. I asked her, "Why don't they give it to you now so you can use it?" There were certain reasons. Some parents simply say, "You'll receive it—but not now." I keep telling them, "Give it now." She is a scientist with a PhD and lives with us. They tell her she still has to work because they feel that if she receives everything now, she may stop working and simply become full-time for Baba. Eventually she received something from her job, and now she no longer works. Sometimes I feel Baba is like that too. Baba says that in one second He can give us everything, but in order for us to experience it, attain it, and learn to use it, we receive more as we become capable of using more. Perhaps we already have everything, but we do not yet know how to use it. So, keep the awareness:

"I am Baba's heir. I am Baba's child." Here Baba is saying that we must become master bestowers, not beggars. At present, Baba says, almost all souls are like beggars. They keep asking God for one thing or another. Some are beggars for wealth. Some are beggars for cooperation. Some are beggars for relationships. Some beg for happiness or temporary comfort. Some even beg for rest and deep sleep. Many people sleep, but they don't experience good sleep. Many struggle with sleeping deeply and peacefully. They too are begging for comfort and rest. But Baba says: "You children of the Bestower have to become master bestowers." With your attitude of good feelings, Baba says you should finish the hunger of begging souls. One aspect is to maintain an attitude of good feelings. The other is to remove the hunger of those beggar souls. Whatever they need, through your attitude of good wishes they should receive it. This is such a beautiful understanding—how we become bestowers through our inner attitude. Baba also mentions these little films. You know Anoli Behen is with us. She has a large studio, and this time her son is with her because he wanted to improve the quality of the camera equipment being used. We thought it would be a good opportunity to invite him so that at least he would come this way. She quickly prepares these short films, and whenever we are together in Peace Village, we show everything—usually just five minutes—so that those who have never seen them can at least have a glimpse. Today is his birthday, so we are celebrating. Tomorrow all four of them are leaving. They had all come mainly for the camera work and have been working throughout their stay. They were here only for ten days, and tomorrow they leave. Thank you all for coming.

Om Shanti
