Listening is one of the most important faculty in life. Everything is how you listen. Listening carefully will enable deep understanding. Listening definitely requires total attention, full concentration. If there is a lawyer teaching and if you're sitting in a class, you are learning law, you are not just listening. You are listening because you have to apply that as a lawyer when you are in the court. If you forget about laws then you will not be able to argue or give your point of view. So gyan should be taken as gyan. So we don't say, “Oh, I heard all the points, today there was no new point.” Every time you listen to Baba, there is something different, something new. Knowledge is what you live with, like the seven days course. Baba says it is very important to give the course. It is only when you are giving the course you will know which points I have understood, so that I can explain to others. Which points I try to explain but I feel I can't do it properly. You know which points you understand and which you still need to understand. Whether we call it jewels of knowledge, wealth of knowledge is the income which you earn through knowledge. If somebody has knowledge but doesn't really have stability or understanding about how to interact at the right time with the right kind of people. Dadi said that knowledge really is life, we should also listen to knowledge in a way that I have to use it. My reasoning should be  based on knowledge. 

Ratan Mohini Dadi said that knowledge should be understood as knowledge, not as just information about something. Baba doesn't come to give us information. He gives us understanding. He wants us to apply it, become wise according to that, and increase our capacities. Knowledge has to be changed into powers and understanding. So listen to knowledge from that point of view. The virtue of sweetness and harmony teaches you to bow down. Baba says that the more you bow, your sanskars will change. Then the world will bow to you. It's very interesting. It happens in the lokik families too when we came in gyan, and they were against you and then the time comes that they really bow to you. They say, "Oh, we didn't realize your sacrifice, your renunciation or the truth you are living." Baba says that others bow down to you. Baba says bow down to your sanskars. There must not be even the thought that others should bow down to me. Baba says that you bow down and all others will also bow down. Truly serviceable children can only do service when they bow down to everyone. Baba always used to say that our words, our language should be very respectful. In English there is only one word ‘you’. But in Hindi ‘you’ is ‘tu, tum, aap’, right? So same in our culture at least in Delhi we always say, ‘aao-aayei’. When we say ‘aayei’ you are welcoming a person with a lot of respect. 

Every morning we listen to Baba as our Supreme Teacher. I always think about who else in the world can teach you like this. Of course, knowledge of the beginning, middle and end of the cycle, the creation and the creator is a big part of knowledge. What knowledge brings in our life? Is there any university where they talk about sweetness or they talk about humility? Even the college of princes and princesses teach you a lot of manners and etiquette but not these kinds of virtues. This is only taught by our Teacher, He is also our Father. He plays the role of Father, Teacher and Satguru. What teachers will teach in the schools and what father will teach at home? All three combined Baba is teaching us as Father, what He expects as Teacher, and as Satguru gives discipline. Baba really loved children who were respectful, those who were humble and we do say that God loves everyone. He loves those who are becoming worthy children. Children who bring good names to the family, children who earn income, they definitely get more attention and they please the heart of Father, Teacher and Satguru.
