Om Shanti everybody!
Is everyone okay? So much is happening. You have Navratri and Baba's meeting. Every day is a festival, wherever Brahmins are, there is always something to celebrate. It's a very interesting story of myself and my lokik family since 1937. Gulzar Dadi's family, and my father, they all were in business together and when Baba started, many mothers started going to listen to Om, the sound of Om and whatever Baba used to do at his home many will go, because they all were neighbors. They knew each other. One of my mother's sisters, they call auntie Mausi, she and her husband, they had just got married, but they went to listen to Baba and then they decided to surrender. They were, I think, the first couple to surrender. After 1950, Baba asked them to go find and serve their contacts. So they came to my grandfather, mother and father. He was very strict, and he wouldn't allow them to give knowledge or talk about anything, because he was scared that all girls would not marry or want to leave home. Anyway, they sowed the seed and afterwards, little by little, when we had more freedom, we started going to the center.
I don't know Dadi Prakashmani's original name, but she was called Gopi. She was in many centers: Pathankot, Jammu Kashmir. I went to Srinagar, got a center opened in Srinagar, then Jammu, then Pathankot. It's so nice to see Dadi Prakashmani giving an introduction, right? Have you seen some of the Dadis? They were strong so we call them ShivShakti. Once they decided, nobody could stop them. During the time of partition, when there was no food, they all were strong. They supported Baba. Dadi Gulzar said we used to go in the morning and pick some berries, eat them, and then we will go and tell Baba we are so full, we are so happy, so that Baba doesn't worry that there is not enough food. So many difficulties came after partition, when they came to Abu, no medicine, it was so cold, and it was a very difficult time, but they all stayed. All Dadis gave very good support to Baba.
So today's theme is transformation, right? You heard it already. Baba says that even if someone insults you, stay in self-respect. If someone insults you or even accuses you falsely, do not get angry. Baba says that do not get upset or to get angry. It is the duty of the brahmins to uplift those who defame you. So Baba says that when they insult you, you embrace them. This is a wonder. Baba says this is called transformation. Baba says to embrace those who embrace you is not a big thing. Those who love you, to love them is not a big thing. However, when you consider someone who defames you to be your true friend, you will be, Baba says, known as someone who uplifts. It must have happened that somebody insults you, but still you consider that one to be a friend. Whatever they are, but we don't have to distance ourselves. In the beginning there was a lot of opposition, so in some small cities, any word you say used to upset the public, you know. Like they didn't know good Hindi or so.
There was a program, and one of the Dadis must have said a word which was not considered socially good. It was not abuse or anything. So at that time, the public used to see a chance to go against Brahma Kumaris. At the same time, if it's election time or politics, they make it political, right? So many things like that used to happen. These Dadis were so calm and cool and internally had faith everything will be okay. When the Punjab zone came, there were some sisters from there. So a lot happened in the beginning, like they won't get any place. A lot of opposition, and there was no reason. Only because of purity, many left home, young girls and boys. They were leaving homes, like VishwaRatan and Dada Chandrahas, and they all are from very rich families, and boys are very important, you know. Rajubai and Jamnaprasad and all, some of these young ones came, and they just stayed. They were very good at whatever duties they got. They were happy. They did everything, you know.
So it's a beautiful story of Baba, right? Okay!
Om Shanti
