Om Shanti
We were just listening to Dada Anand Kishore. He was one of the brothers who stayed with Baba from the very beginning. And I am surprised to know that there were 75 brothers. I thought their number was smaller, and there were 300 mothers and sisters. And as he said, those who sent the invitations and sponsored them said that when they came to India, they would get a house, their expenses would be taken care of, and everything would be arranged. But things changed. So, they had already kind of packed everything, put it on a ship, and then came here and took a train to Abu. So, when they came here, they discovered that there was no house. I think they had a little money, but not much. Anyway, they found that the palaces of the kings were empty—Brij Kothi and all those places. So, they rented one. Of course, they stayed for a while, but then they stayed for 14 years because they had been living in big bungalows, and when they came here, there was no place for them. But Baba told them that if you know, wherever someone like Anand Kishore was sent to Ahmedabad, most of them—Manohar, Dadi, and others—were between 30 and 35 years of age. Baba said everyone tried to find a contact, and that is how they came to my grandfather. So three, four, five—many, many brothers and sisters came. They were looking for a place, and they were looking for a telephone or whatever. Plus, we helped them because we knew their language and could take them somewhere. They didn't know how to do anything, so we all started helping them. And this is how the connection began. There were no contributions like there are now, when thousands come and contribute to Baba. At that time, there were no visitors, nothing. But then all the families started helping in one way or another. Our love for Madhuban began at that time, and of course, we understood that they needed something. Everyone tried to help them. And of course, Brahma Baba used to love them. Baba came to Delhi a few times in winter, he would go to Bombay because of his health. As he said, the water didn't suit them, and many, many people became ill with diarrhea and vomiting. A lot of them became ill. They say that Anand Kishore Dada would go to Vishva Kishore and get a few tablets and cut them into four pieces. One tablet into four pieces. If somebody had a fever, he would give them one of those pieces. You know, they had a difficult time in the beginning. But everyone, like Dadi Gulzar, was sent to Lucknow. There was a couple from Hong Kong, so they invited them. Like all the Dadis, they went to different places, such as Bangalore, where you heard the experience. This is how she is sharing the story and how Baba told them that obstacles will come because their task was the highest of the high, and they had to claim a high status. So, some tests had to be passed. It's very interesting. Have you all passed the tests? The tests came? Yes, that's very good. Because it makes you very detached, and you really want to serve from your heart when there are difficulties. Especially when there is no money, you become kind of helpless. So that's part of the story which has now become history. Ninety years of the Yagya—where it began. Even if there were 95, 75, and 300, how many are we today? There is no comparison to what we are now. That was in 1951. So now, how many years has it been? Ninety years from 1937, but the expansion happened after 1951. When I came, there were seven centers. Mostly there were fewer than seven. When Baba became Avyakt, there may have been 20 centers. Baba's teachings, Baba's knowledge, and truth are eternal. Every day, Baba could give us a point with a little more insight and a little more guidance about the methods—how to do it and how it can be done better. So, when the signals are prepared, Raju Bhai generally goes through the Avyakt Murli, and he takes points about benevolence from the Avyakt Murli. So, you get a method from the Avyakt Murli. One of the methods is this: when someone's old sanskars emerge, what do you do? You bring out your elevated sanskars. That means, let's say somebody is criticizing you or somebody says something to you. You use your elevated sanskars. Actually, people come up with something or other throughout the day. You can practice benevolence by changing their attitude, bringing them strength, helping them reform their faith, and increasing their feelings for the Yagya. Somewhere, you can serve or speak in such a way that they feel uplifted. Don't get involved in the situation itself. Instead, focus on what the soul needs. You don't have to get involved in everyone's situation. But you know, this soul is confused, or this soul really needs some clarity. So, spend five minutes explaining things to them so that their confusion is gone. But this also becomes benevolence for us. Through your own company, you uplift others. Say, "No, no, this is not like that." Explain things to them properly. I think everyone is doing this, and everyone will need to do more of it. This is called using our elevated sanskars—our elevated sanskars, or the attainments that you have received. So, Baba says that when souls, because of their old sanskars, they come to test you. Then, in a second, Baba says, with the awareness of the One, use your elevated sanskars. So, Baba speaks about the sanskars and the nature that you have. Baba speaks about the ability to be merciful toward such souls. Baba says this is what it means: uplift them with a merciful mind. Because what happens when old sanskars emerge? There is suffering. Suffering in the sense of struggling: "Why should I be at this stage? What is going on?" They can become disappointed. So how can you help them create hope within themselves? This situation is temporary. Anything that happens is temporary. There can be a very big storm, but eventually it passes. What happened in Nepal, it didn’t take much time, right? But destruction can happen. For us, if there is a storm—One example Dadi Janki used to give us was that when you have to take a dip into the Ganges, or wherever you go, you close your eyes, your nose, and your ears, and your mouth as well. Sometimes it happens within one second. You can have one thought, and then things just come, like storm. But it lasts for a little while. What do I have to do to protect myself, whether it is coming from someone else or from my own circumstances? One nice thing that happened last night was that we went to Pandav Bhawan. We hadn't gone for two months, so they were also kind of saying, "Why don't you give classes here? What about us?" So, we went and gave a class. They had a little program. We came back at quarter to ten. I just said, "Let me take the chance to say good night," and went to Dadis cottage because I used to go every day, but now I can't go by the time we return, as it's late. But yesterday it was quarter to ten. So, what had been happening when Ram Navami began, on the first day? Sometimes I feel that everyone is busy, so I didn't go. Then Munni Didi called me and said, "Oh, it's Ram Navami, and Goddesses..." Then she wanted to share a blessing with me, you know. So, I said, "Okay, share it." And last night, again, she shared her blessing with me, and I shared a blessing with her. I thought that if everyone in their room shared blessings with each other before sleeping, it would be good, because it creates such good feelings. When you sleep, you sleep with that blessing. I thought, "Oh, we should do this every day in our rooms." Okay, you share a blessing for me, and I will share a blessing for you. I thought that was a good way to say good night. Yes, all the roommates, right? Yes, you will try it today and tomorrow, and then tell us what your experience was. Your sleep will be so good with that blessing. So, this is a new practice: going to sleep after sharing blessings with each other. So, always look for ways to make the impossible possible through the company of Karan karavanhaar, and look at Baba's wonders. Miracles of Baba.
Om Shanti
