Om Shanti!
Is everyone ok? Is everyone full and happy? Who comes in front of us when we talk of the teachings, or a description of the stage we should have? Maybe we think of the Dadis, but before them was Brahma Baba. When Baba began his journey, He was chanting ‘Om’ and speaking the teachings of the Gita. There was a crowd of people and it grew larger, so there was praise, approval, and acceptance of Baba. When people do this, it is a type of praise. Then on the other side, opposition began, and people spoke very abusive things. Baba spoke of Shiva Baba being the sermonizer of the Gita not Krishna. They didn’t like that, but Baba responded with a smile, never complaining.
He said that we have to be Khalangidhar-the incarnation of victory over defamation.
He had the intoxication of being God’s child, God’s instrument. He kept playing his part, because you could get discouraged. Thoughts like, “It was going good, why is this defamation happening now?” Lots of negative thoughts can come, but Baba was not affected. Baba was intoxicated with this recognition of God, and what he was attaining. He was the chariot of God, so his part was different. Can you imagine what his stage was like then? Seeing his courage to continue, he had no fear. Many would say to Baba that everything is very good but don’t talk about living pure life, we can’t live without vices. Baba was steadfast and determined not to make a compromise. He said, “I am not saying it, God is saying that we should all live pure life.” So, whether it was criticism or praise, he never fluctuated, he was stable. Our homework for today is to be loving to everyone, not to fluctuate. Remain stable and become victorious. Harmonize sanskars and thoughts with one another, but do not let your stage be dependent on praise, otherwise you will continue to fluctuate. When you maintain equanimity through criticism and praise, then you will not be in conflict with anyone. So check to see that you are not looking for praise.
Om Shanti
