Om Shanti
Happy Satguruvaar to everyone.
I really got a little bit emotional looking at Didi ManMohini. I don't know how many of you know that when Baba, Brahma Baba, became very clear about what had to be done, He started sharing it. Then many, many families said, "We also want to join you." So, then a community was created. At that time it was called Om Mandli. Mandli means a group of people. At that time, many were very young. For example, Dadi Prakashmani was only 16 years old. There were other sisters, their parents—they all came. Then, for 14 years, they did tapasya. It was not just renunciation. First of course, it was sacrifice. When Baba said, "This is also like a Yagya," then all of them came with their family resources. There was a lot, a lot of tapasya. Also, because it was something new, something different, some accepted it and some did not. I would suggest that there is a book about the history of the Yagya, Adi Dev. Maybe every Sunday, especially for the new ones, it would be good to read one chapter, to know how everything began and then what happened. The Kumaris were very, very young. Now they became Dadis. As I said there was a lot of sacrifice. When I saw them—I met them in 1951—and then, of course, little by little, they all looked very, very elegant and very pure, divine. Because after 14 years of tapasya, when they came out, many people would look at them and think, "Oh, they have so much money," and all that. But they wouldn't even iron their clothes after washing them. They would stretch the cotton cloth with their hands in the sun to remove the wrinkles. Then they would fold it and put it under a pillow or mattress. There was a time when they couldn’t really have afforded anything. So, when we came into contact, whatever way we could help, we helped. So, until now, my whole feeling about Madhuban is the same as it was 68–70 years ago. Every drop of our contribution helps the unlimited Yagya. When we go there, even at 3:30 am, if anyone wants to drink hot tea, it is there. And surprisingly, there is not a single day when we do not get tea. There is some kind of energy that keeps everyone serving punctually, accurately, with tasty, nice food. Then there is breakfast, then lunch, then snacks, then dinner. And in India they believe that a cup of hot milk at night helps you sleep well. So, there is always a queue for that. So, Baba's Bhandara (kitchen) has to provide more accommodation, more buildings. There is cleaning in the kitchen and in the rooms. There are 2,000 workers there. You go there and enjoy everything, but you don't know what is behind it. The maids and workers wash all the pots, pans, and your plates too. They have all those stainless-steel utensils and everything. Someone even said, "Even if you lived in a palace, you wouldn't get all this." Everything is clean. Everything is cooked. Everything is taken care of. So, I am just saying that these are my feelings—our feelings—for the Yagya. For me, whatever I have, I say, "It's for Madhuban. It's for Madhuban. It's for Madhuban." That's why they are able to host us. They are able to take care of us. If I am not doing enough, that means I am using what others have contributed. That's a very subtle burden, isn't it? Others donate in Yagya, and I am using it because I am not contributing that much, whether for my stay there or for whatever else. So, that is my love for Madhuban. It is expressed in many different ways.
It is not only about creating my fortune, but at least I am not just using what is there. That's why I remember one time we said, "Let's calculate the per-day, per-person expense." In the beginning, when Brahmins from the USA started going, this message was shared: If my expense per day is a certain amount, then at least I should put ₹10 extra. At least ₹10 extra will be my contribution. Otherwise, we are using more than what we are giving. So anyway, we are still okay in the USA. We always encourage people to contribute at least what they use, but also something extra to create their fortune. People ask me, "How much?" I am not going to specify that. But my whole feeling is about our Dadis and their sacrifice. We are sitting here comfortably. Every day there is Bhog. Every day there are trolleys serving everything. But think about those ancestor souls. Out of love for them, we have to continue sustaining the Yagya. Because we ourselves are being sustained by the Yagya. Whether individually, whether through a center, or in whatever way, we are being sustained. And we also have to sustain it. Our homework is to become a lighthouse and a might-house. The flame and yoga— "I am a master almighty." Knowledge and yoga. Constantly experience the stage of being a lighthouse and a might-house in your yoga. So, when you sit in yoga, your light and might spread. Baba says that knowledge is light, and yoga is might. So, Baba says that these two powers—knowledge and yoga—should fill you with light and might. Then Baba says that you can truly be called a master almighty. Baba says that such a powerful soul will be able to overcome any type of situation in a second. It will not take time. Whatever happens and whatever the return of that may be, nothing will seem big to you. You will pass through it in a very natural way.
So, our homework every hour is: "I am a lighthouse." And constantly keep giving light and might. So, that even if the atmosphere around someone is unsettled, stumbling, or confused, they receive the right direction. That will be our homework.
Om Shanti
