Happy Satguruvaar to everyone.
The month of August is the month of purity and joy, because purity brings happiness. You remain very light and joyful. Whenever there is any kind of heaviness, we could just check within and ask: What is causing that heaviness? Which sanskar? Which trace of vice? But I also like the point that every attainment, every test, is an attainment. Because even in the worldly life, when you pass a test, you get a promotion, an upgrade, or some kind of bonus. Actually, what is a test? Sometimes, I think it depends. Yes, it does happen. It could be a storm of the mind, sometimes the body, sometimes the settling of karmic accounts, sometimes in relationships. But I have to pass with honor, right? And add another credit to our life. Dadi Prakashmani is truly an example for us—a leader, a mother, and a grandmother. She was always very enthusiastic, joyful, and full of love. But her nature also included care and forgiveness. Many times, she would call me and tell stories, saying, "Look, this soul has done this." But then she would say, "I still love that soul a lot because I do not want that soul to feel bad or feel guilty and go back into the old world. No, I give a lot of love—a lot of love." So, her way of caring for and correcting everyone was to give more love, because she knew that love is what would help. But she was also very active. Every morning, before reading the Murli, she would go into the kitchen. Early in the morning, around 6:30, she would call and say, "Bholi Dadi, come. What is the menu for today?" She also knew that Baba's children do not go out very much, so she would arrange picnics. "Let's go! Let's go!" One time she called us in New York—myself, Gayatri, and three or four of us. She said, "There are beautiful waterfalls here. It's rainy and the falls are beautiful. Why don't you all come?" So, we went from New York. Then Dadi had a 22-seat bus, and at four o'clock she said, "Let's go, let's go," and she took us around. So, it was like love and care, but she was also very detached and very firm. She loved discipline, principles, and maryadas (spiritual codes of conduct). But she also helped us grow in our abilities. It was not just love—she always gave us something from which we could learn and grow, because she liked to see Baba's children grow more and more, and see their abilities increase more and more. So, of course, Dadi Prakashmani was truly a good leader, a good mother, a wonderful example, and a source of inspiration. Our homework for tomorrow is: Be cautious at every step. You have to be careful. Baba says that if you have any impurity in your attitude—that is where the germ begins. The germ begins in the attitude. Any opinion, any idea forming in your mind that so-and-so is like this... Dadi Janki used to say, "That’s a curse. Today someone may be like that, but tomorrow they will be different. They will be better." So, impurity begins in the attitude, in our awareness, and in our thoughts. Baba says that the Avyakt signal is this: you cannot remain stable in your Brahmin stage. A Brahmin stage means being unshakable, immovable. Therefore, Baba says you have to remain cautious at every step. Baba says you may have many specialties, but if you have even one weakness, then what will happen? That one weakness can finish all your specialties. The percentage of that weakness may be very small, but there should be virtues—all virtues. So, remain content. No frustration, no disappointment, no hopelessness, no discouragement. Do not allow that seed to grow within you.
Om Shanti
