Om Shanti!
Everyone’s Okay? Yes, Baba’s lovely children. Baba calls us lovely and sweet. Baba always uses two words ‘Pyare Bache Mithe Bache’. One of the good manners is to be sweet because that’s how Baba always calls us,”lovely and sweet.” Another good manners is also listening to someone properly. Sometimes we don’t listen or if someone is talking, we just cut them off, then the person says, “let me finish.” I remember we used to have dialogue, so we sat in a circle, and let everyone express their own feelings on the topic. Let’s say someone says something you’re not supposed to comment on, but still you give your opinion. Generally we start commenting on that and sometimes from their reaction they know it is not good manners, right? These are very subtle ways. Manners also have a kind of etiquette, your walking, talking and your speaking to each other. If divine virtues, divine manners are expressed properly, it’s actually good manners. Allowing someone to do something, acceptance of each other, these are very subtle kinds of manners. Some manners are external, but some are very subtle and they look like royalty. As Baba says that there is royalty of purity, so Baba is connecting manners with purity. It’s very interesting, because these are the topics we need to reflect on, we need to churn and if you get good points just write it down. When you write it then you can share it with others. It is very interesting that there are gods and goddesses of manners. Purity is the greatest decoration of you Brahmins. One of the beautiful ways of Brahmin life is to be cheerful. One is to smile, the other is to be cheerful. When you are cheerful internally, there is a natural kind of smile on your face. If you only smile but internally you’re not cheerful, that is not being authentic, so complete purity is the greatest property and personality of your life. Imbibe it and be ever ready, then elements will begin their work. Those who have a personality of purity become complete and perfect royal souls, and they are called goddesses of manners. They don’t react to anything impulsively, even when they listen, and they have to respond, they do so with a lot of patience and love. They take a few moments, they think about it, their response to everyone is with the awareness that I am peaceful, I’m calm and then of course they say what they have to say, but not with haste. Dadi Janki always when she listens to a problem, she pauses, she goes in silence for a few minutes and then she responds. Then it touches everyone. Otherwise it’s like an intellectual answer, not from the heart. When you say things from the heart, it has a big impact. Once Baba said that if you say with intellect, it touches the intellect of others, but not the heart, but if you say with the heart, it touches the heart of others. We have to pay attention and see we are god and goddesses of manners of purity, and that creates our personality, so whether manners or purity both are decorations of our Brahmin life.
Om Shanti
